A variety of programs and services are available for Youth. An eligible youth is defined by the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) as low-income, between the age of 14-18 (younger youth) and 19-21 (older youth) and face one or more of the following challenges to successful workforce entry:
> School dropout
> Basic literacy skills deficiency
> Homeless, runaway, or foster child
> Pregnant or a parent
> An offender
> Needs additional help completing an educational program or securing
& holding job
Programs are designed to prepare youth for post secondary educational opportunities or employment. They are available to in-school and out-of-school youth. Services include:
> Academic assessments
> Career exploration
> Work readiness
> Paid and unpaid work experience
> On-the-job training
> Tutoring
> Study skills training
> Leadership development
> Counseling
> Occupational Skill Training
